Santa and I

Hi there! It's been a very long time since Momma has updated about me :( We have been very busy and I have been changing every day. I now go to school (daycare center) and I love it! Each morning I ask for school. I have met a lot of new friends and I love my teachers. I still ask for Ms. Molly and my old friends but I get to see them every now and then so that it good. Momma will do a new entry soon with some new pictures of me but for now check out my picture with Santa. Momma took me a couple of weeks ago to see Santa and that did not go well at all! I cried and wouldn't let him touch me. Momma then called Ms. Molly and asked which Santa she was helping and we went there and wow what a difference. I went right up to Santa and kept saying Hi Santa and then he reached for me and up I went on his lap, no tears and lots of smiles. Santa asked me what I would like for Chrismas and I said, um presents! I then told him trains and explained to him that trains say choo choo. Christmas will be a lot of fun this year with me sort of getting it. I keep asking Momma and Dada for presents every day. In a couple of weeks I won't have to ask anymore :)

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!! Well I finally made it out to Trick-or-Treat this year :) It was a rough road to this though as I woke up sick this morning and had to miss school. That was sad because today was my party and parade. Momma and Dada had even planned to come as they were still on vacation today. I went to the doctor and I have a viral infection and as long as my fever stayed away I was given the go ahead to have some fun, and belive me I had a lot of fun! I only got scared at one house and I wasn't the only one. After that I was a bit shy but then came out of my shell. I would go up to the house by myself and loved ringing the bell. I even said trick-or-treat and then I also said thank you. However, I did tend to get more than one piece of candy at each house as I distracted people with my good looks. Hope everyone had an awesome night and here are some pics from my adventure.

My First Wedding Reception

Last night Momma's cousin Sara got married. I have never been to a wedding reception before so Momma and Daddy were a bit worried about how I was going to act. I did WONDERFUL!!! I ate my food, which by the way was great! We got to hang out with a lot of Momma's family and my Great-Grandma Bonnie even came from Reno, NV so I got to see her. I then danced, danced, and danced. I had a blast and kept going all night. I loved the music and the lights so much. We took some pictures but unfortunately some are blurry as I was just moving too fast :) Congrats to Sara and Jason and thanks so much for inviting us!!!!

City Park, Iowa City

I LOVE City Park in Iowa City!!! Grandpa Tom and Grandma Lee Ann came down and with the fabulous weather off we went. I always get to bring bread to feed the ducks and then I get to ride the rides there. This year I was able to ride them all and I LOVED it! This will become one of our favorite hang outs when the weather is nice. Although I am sad as the rides only go from Memorial Day until Labor Day :( Momma got lots of pictures so enjoy!

Eagle Point Park, Dubuque IA

A month or so ago we were bored on a Saturday so we up and decided to head to Dubuque to Eagle Point Park. We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect! I loved seeing all of the boats and watching them in the dam. The fish pond was cool too except I couldn't see any fish. We then found a playground for me to run around and climb and I loved it. Well better late than never! I am finally 2 :) I had a Toy Story themed party and the cake and everything was awesome. I was unfortunately sick :( so didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. My aunts, uncles, and cousins came and I am a very loved and spoiled boy! Thank you thank you thank you to everyone for the wonderful gifts as Momma didn't get thank you notes out due to my getting ill and going down hill from there. Sorry about that but do know I appreciated them all!!!! Momma's cousin Shawna made me my awesome shirt and then redid my blog design to match. Thank you so much Shawna!!! Madison Zoo

Hi there everyone! It's been a really long time so be prepared to read a lot of updates, starting with this one. Momma has promised to get all of my updates done and give you lots of new pictures to look at. We are going to try something new, a slideshow view of my pictures as that will allow you to see more of me :) Anyway for this first update I went to the Madison Zoo! I got to meet Momma's best friends Rachel and Candace and their kids. Momma hadn't seen them in over 4 years so this was awesome! We had perfect weather and everyone had a blast. Yesterday I got my 2 year pictures done and I did AWESOME! Momma and Daddy had a ton to choose from and below is a sampling of some of them. We had a lot of fun and I even smiled a lot. I am going to be 2 on Friday the 29th. Wow 2 years has gone by really fast and I get to have a Toy Story party. We ordered my cake tonight and I even have a personalized shirt to wear. I will be sure to post lots of pictures. On another note I learned three new words that I love saying, Minnie Mouse, Thomas, and belly button. I am even starting to put words together like bye bye da-da, where did it go?, all gone, duck says quack. I'm sure now that I am off and running with words I'll be a chatter box in no time.

On Saturday Aunt Jana, Emerson, Grayson, Momma, and I went to Rock Island, IL for the Trainfestival. We had a lot of fun!!! My cousins and I are HUGE train lovers so this was the perfect way to spend the day. They had real trains going around the tracks and then also ones you could go into. I unfortunately didn't go into any of them as I got scared when they tooted their horns. Below are a few of the many pictures that were taken.

My New Bedroom!

I got a new bed and a train table! I am so happy and love playing in my room now. I am addicted to trains so this has made me a very happy little boy. Mammie (Grandma Jill) was getting rid of my Uncle Aaron's bed so we decided to take it as it gives me a lot of storage for all of my toys. I will need extra storage as I am turning 2 in under 2 weeks and I tend to be spoiled :) Wow the past 2 years have flown by! I am going to have a Toy Story party since Chuggington stuff isn't out yet and Toy Story is my second favorite thing. I love Buzz and Woody and talk about them all of the time. I will be sure to post lots of pictures from my party.

TiffinFest

Last weekend we went to TiffinFest and I had lots of fun. I got to go into the bounce house and go down the slide. I loved the petting zoo and even went on the little carousel a lot! Momma and Daddy acted like kids and had fun too. Instead of getting my face painted the painter did a zebra on my arm and I was thrilled. I still look on my arm for it :) Aunt Abby, Uncle Jeff, and Cousin Brittany came along and we a blast. I am very excited for North Liberty's Blues and BBQ Fest next weekend as the petting zoo is going to be there too! Below are some pictures from our day.

City Park

I got to go feed ducks!!! I loved it until I decided to hold my finger out to a duck and he tried it :) I didn't cry and Momma doesn't think it hurt me, he just scared me. I just stood there and then said Bye Bye. I say this when I get nervous or don't want to be somewhere. But Daddy came to the rescue and showed me how to throw the bread to them so then I was happy as I didn't get nibbled on again. After feeding the ducks I got to go on the rides that are there. I LOVED the train ride and I even went on a big boy ride by myself! Below are some pictures of our adventure. Enjoy :)

4th of July

Happy late 4th of July!!!! Well I didn't get to see any fireworks as I was so exhausted after the busy days I had that I always went to sleep too early. Momma and I went to Wisconsin for the long weekend and on Saturday we spent the night with Grandpa Tom (Papa) and Grandma Lee Ann oh and of course we can't forget about Izzy! We exhausted each other out!!! I love her so much! I also got to play with Riley and he has a HUGE train collection so we had lots of fun together. We both love the show Chuggington and he has all of the trains so I was very jealous. We went swimming at my Great-Aunt Patti's pool and went to Shullsburg for the carnival. I even got to go and see some sheep up close and personal at the school that Momma went to. Izzy and I loved this! On Sunday night we went and stayed with Grandpa Jill (Mammie) and I got to go to the rodeo. Of course I had a blast as I loved the horses. Momma had to leave on Monday but I stayed as Ms. Molly was closed on Tuesday. I wore Mammie out :) I got to play with the hose and had a blast getting everything and everyone wet. Wow it is so hard to believe that we are almost to July and I am officially 23 months old today!!!! I am doing all sorts of things and loving that summer is here as I can be outside a lot. I have been spending a lot of time at the pool as we found out I love it just as much as I did last year. I now go to daycare full-time as Daddy went back to work. I am meeting lots of friends such as Baby Enzo whom I love and ask for all of the time! I have begun talking even more since attending and my personality is really coming through. I know my shapes and some of my colors. I even love coloring and can't get enough of it. Momma and Daddy think I am for sure a lefty as I have never used the right much so that should get interesting when showing me how to draw and write. I have been counting and I even read a book to Momma and Daddy! They were so excited, of course each page only had one word on it but still :) Last weekend I went to my first movie in the theatre, Rio, and I did AWESOME. I only had to leave the movie once for a few minutes and that was about half way through to stretch my legs and run around and then we went right back in to finish it up. Momma was so proud of me. I am still a climber and a jumper and now take it to higher levels which scares my parents but I love it. We haven't had to go to the ER yet so I am obviously becoming a master at this. I still love trains and cars. Chuggington is still one of my favorites along with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as I am now also in love with Minnie Mouse. Toy Story is my favorite movie and I will ask for Buzz and Woody when I want to see the movies. I still use my signs for milk, more, and eat but have also learned the words too. My favorite dog is now Izzy, my Grandpa and Grandma Bird's boxer. I ask for her every morning, all day, and again before bedtime. She and I have clicked and I can't wait to see her again! I even called Grandpa Tom Papa last week so that was really awesome for him. Well this weekend is the Fourth of July and I will be a busy little man so I will have more to update then. In the meantime here are some pictures to get you through until then.

Wow Time is Flying By

Well time is going way too fast and as you can see my Mommy hasn't done a very good job at keeping everyone up to date on how I am doing :) I am doing GREAT by the way. I love going to daycare and I even can say some of my friends' names such as Enzo and Gabe. I even say Molly for Ms. Molly. I have become a very talkative little boy and that also includes the temper I have. I know what you are thinking though, this perfect looking angel of a boy couldn't possibly have a temper :) If I don't get to do things exactly as I want them watch out and be prepared. I love to be outside and unfortunatley the weather hasn't been allowing much time for that but when it does I am go go non-stop. I even know how to walk to my Aunt Jana and Uncle Ray's house and if I don't get to walk there I throw a fit. So I guess they will be seeing a lot of me this summer or they had better hide indoors! I am just growing too fast, I will be 2 in just a few short months! I have fallen in love with Thomas the Train and Chuggington and that's all I talk about. I am still obssessed with cars but more so trains now. I am still very into zebras and mom finally found me a stuffed one today at Kohl's of all places but as soon as I saw it I was screaming zeebaba at the top of my lungs and I have taken him with me all over the place today. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to take me to the zoo this year as I have never been and I go nuts when seeing all kids of safari animals. I love to watch Planet Earth and other zoo shows so this will be a major adventure. Well this will be it for now as me and my zeebaba need to go to bed.

It's Been a Long Time

Well it's been a very long time since my Mommy updated you on my progress because since the holidays we have been super busy. I have been busy growing and learning new things while Daddy and Mommy work. First I got really spoiled for Christmas and I think I would have had a ton more fun than I did had I not have been super sick. Since then though I have been doing well and I will be 18 months old tomorrow. I now go to daycare and I am having lots of fun with my new friends. I am talking a lot more now too which is really great. I say words such as zebra, car, bye bye, hello, diaper, tree, tiger, baby, and many others. I will also say my name and if you ask me milk, Blue's Clues, more, mommy, or think I will do signs for those words. I don't yet know how much I have grown since my 15 month check-up but I will know next Friday when I go see my doctor. I Got a Big Boy Bed!!!

Well I am a bid boy now as I now have a big boy bed!!! On Friday night I showed Mommy and Daddy that I could escape from my crib. The main problem was I wasn't very graceful about it and they didn't want me to hurt myself in the middle of the night so it was time for a change. We decided on a big boy bed instead of a toddler bed as I wouldn't be in that very long either. Last night was my first night and I did AWESOME. I slept all night and that hasn't happened in months. Mommy did stay in the room with me though as she was worried I would get scared the first night. It was also nice as Mommy and I took a nap together today in my bed and it was so nice to cuddle as I am not a cuddler at all. Hopefully I will continue to do well and Mommy and Daddy won't have to second guess their decision. I even got to get sheets that have balls on them and I love them. We also had to get rid of my changing table as I had figured out how to climb all over that and we can't have me doing that in the middle of the night or unattended. In it's place I got some new totes and cube storage and it's great. Well below are some pictures of my room now and even from my nap. Until next time. ~Jackson

Halloween and 15 month check-up

Well a lot has been going on. First we'll start with mentioning that below this post is a post of new random pictures of me so check it out. Now to Halloween. As my main word has been duck it was only fitting that I would be one for Halloween. I had a very busy Halloween weekend and we started Friday night by going to the party at our local rec center where we met up with my cousins Emerson and Grayson. I had a lot of fun and got to run around and even go into a dark maze. Then Saturday night I stayed at Grandma Jill's as Mommy and Daddy went out for Daddy's 30th birthday so Happy Late Birthday to my Daddy!!!! On Sunday Mommy came to get me and brought my costume so I could show it off. First Grandma Jill got to see me then I went to Grandpa Tom and Grandma Lee Ann's. I had so much fun and Riley even came over in his costume so I got to play with him and his puppy Libby. Hopefully I'll play with him again soon and he is going to be a big brother in a couple of months so that will be another kid in the neighborhood for me to play with. After that I went to Grandma Jeanne and Grandpa Wayne's and showed off my moves there. Then on our way home we went to Williamsburg and I showed off for Aunt Abby, Uncle Jeff, and cousin Brittany. Then we came home to take care of Daddy who was sick. I didn't go trick-or-treating but perhaps next year I will.

Now on to my 15 month check-up. I am just a little peanut. I am 23 lbs and 30 1/4 inches tall which puts me in the 25th percentile for both. Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe that I am so tiny as people are always saying I'm so big. So we wonder what a toddler who is in the 100th percentile would look like :) I got my last booster shots until I am 4 so we are very happy about that!!! My doctor said I'm doing great and no problems. Mommy and Daddy have taken me off of most of my baby food and I am doing great with big boy food. I love it!!! I have even been using a spoon and feeding myself from a bowl. We think I am going to be a lefty though for sure but we'll see. I have also been sleeping through the night again as I am now getting a snack before bed and not been dressed so warm as I tend to run on the warm side so we have changed my jammies out and it seems to have worked. Lets hope it keeps up as sleeping all night is wonderful! Well until next time.

Well I have been very busy which is one reason I haven't posted in so long. That means though that if you continue to look down you will see three other posts about me. I had my first haircut, football started, and a day at the park. Be sure to scroll down to see those posts and all of the pictures that go with them.

Summer has come to an end and we have been trying to be outside as much as possible. I will be 14 months next week already and Mommy and Daddy say I am growing too fast. My new word is Duck and ever time I see one whether on TV, in a book, or with my farm animals I yell duck super loud and then clap! Not sure why I picked that word but I sure sound cute saying it. Another new fun thing for me is to climb up on the furniture and throw all of the cushions off. Every now and then I figure out how to get up by myself but wow can I get mad and throw a tantrum when I don't get up by myself the first time I try. My new favorite show is Blue's Clues. I saw one episode and I became hooked! I love listening to Joe as he finds the clues that Blue leaves and then when Blue is on the screen I am all smiles. I am still not a picky eater and love everything especially if it comes off of Mommy or Daddy's plates. I refuse to eat my baby food if I see them eating something which is ok by them as they hope to take me off of my baby food next month. I seem to be teething again but that's ok I might as well get them all done at once. I have a full mouth of teeth now and even molars already.

Yeah football is finally back!!! I have spent the last six months learning to do touchdown and now I know what it's for! All that practice wasn't for nothing. As you will be able to see from my pictures below I am going to be a very confused boy for awhile. Daddy is a Iowa Hawkeye / Chicago Bears fan while Mommy is a Wisconsin Badgers / Green Bay Packers fan. What this means to me is I get wardrobe changes through the day depending on what game is on. This Monday night will be a problem though as Mommy and Daddy's teams are playing each other. Perhaps I will pick my own team but Mommy and Daddy are praying it's not the Minnesota Vikings or the Dallas Cowboys. Any other team could possibly be acceptable.

Not really too excited yet as I don't really know what the big deal is.

But Mommy I want to stay up for the game not take a nap!!!

Over Labor Day weekend Grandpa and Grandma Bird came down and visited with me. We went to City Park in Iowa City as Mommy had heard that it was a nice park. Turns out they had tons for me to do. They even have rides that you would find at the carnival that are there all summer. We wish we had done this lots sooner!!! I got to ride the carousel and the train and then of course ran all over the place. Grandpa Tom and I played catch with an acorn and Grandma Lee Ann took me on the train. My 1st Hair Cut

Last Friday the 17th I got my first haircut ever!!!! At first I was all smiles and was looking forward to finding out what was going to happen. Then a water bottle was used, which is weird to Mommy and Daddy as I love water, but anyway that set me off. Then I cried through the entire process but Carrie did an awesome job and I look so handsome. Mommy got it on video and of course we saved my curls that got cut off :( I look like a toddler now which is sad and exciting at the same time but Mommy wanted to save my curls while they were still curly. Also I don't think mullets are in style anymore. Below are some before, during, and after pictures.

My hair is so long it's crazy in the morning. If you look up Bed Head in the dictionary my picture would be there :)

Random New Pics of Me

Well I have been doing a lot lately which is a big reason you have not gotten an update. I have been growing like a weed and I got 4 more new teeth!!! My 18 month molars decided to come at 12 months instead. One of them was really bad and I had to go on medicine to help it so that I wouldn't get an infection. The medicine worked like magic and it came through and no more swelling. In fact the medicine worked so good that since the teeth came through I now sleep through the night which is very exciting for my Daddy as he no longer has to sleep in the recliner in my room. I am walking and even running like a mad man now and even love wearing shoes as they allow me to go faster. I have been talking a lot more and my new thing is to point at something and say "What's that?". I whisper it at first and then once you start answering me I get pretty loud about it. I still love books and spend tons of time looking at them and pointing at images for you to tell me what I am looking at. I am still eating like a champ and love trying new things. Nobody can have anything without sharing it with me and believe me I am very demanding and impatient about it. Summer is drawing to end but that's OK as it's been super hot here which limits my trips to the park and walks around town. I have even become an awesome cleaner for Mommy and Daddy. I pick up things from the floor and will give them to you to throw away even when there really isn't anything there but Mommy plays along. I am also an awesome climber. I have found my way on top of the entertainment center and onto the second shelf of my changing table. You just never know where I'll end up. My new favorite toy is a little Elmo doll that I got and I have maybe seen 2 episodes of Sesame Street but somehow when Mommy says where is Elmo I go and get him. Mommy and Daddy are so surprised that I know who he is. I also know what to get when you ask me for a ball and I love blowing kisses and giving lots of hugs. I will raise my arms for touchdown and I clap and say "yeah" when I do something that I think is good. I love playing with my basketball hoop and making baskets. Well that's all for now as I have to go to bed now but I'll check in again soon.

Well it's happened I am 1 year old!!! Wow the time went so fast and I have done so much growing in such a short time. I am 21 lbs. 11 oz which puts me in the 40th percentile for weight. I am 30 inches long which put me in the 55th percentile and my head finally caught up and I jumped from the 10th percentile to the 50th!!! My brain must have grown a lot in the past 3 months :) I had the best 1st birthday party ever. It was a jungle theme and I got to have lots of awesome food. A lot of my family members also showed up and I found out that I am a very loved little boy. I got lots of cool clothes (my first Packers jersey, Aaron Rodgers!), books, and toys! Thank you so much to everyone for coming and for all of the awesome gifts. I was so tuckered out after the adventurous day. That was just the start of my birthday week. Mommy had the whole week of my birthday off so we went to Wisconsin for a few days to spend some time with family. I got to see lots of people and even went swimming in Mommy's aunt's pool. I loved it and loved playing with Haylee, Hanna, and Haidyn. Thanks to Jenni for making time to come in to town. I even went to Madison for the first time but that lasted about an hour before I had a major melt down and we had to go back to Mammy's (Grandma Jill) house which meant no zoo and no Badger clothes :( That also meant I didn't get to see my Great-Aunt Lynn :( After all of this we were really missing Daddy and it was time to come home and take care of my doctor appointments, get my 1 year pictures taken, and celebrate my actual birthday. Some other great news is I passed my 1 year hearing test!!!! There was a chance that the medicine that saved my life could damage my hearing so Mommy and Daddy were very relieved that this will not be an issue especially with Mommy having a hearing loss. Petting Zoo and Baseball Game

This weekend was so busy with visits from family and such but we also fit in the petting zoo and a baseball game. I have met these animals once before but this time was a bit more fun as I enjoyed petting them and trying to get their grass. I got to pet some goats, sheep, and a cow. They had the cutest little pigs but they were too fast to catch so I could only watch. It was so funny though because they donkey must have remembered my Daddy because he came and head butted him right in his rear again like he did last time!!! Daddy got some food and we got to feed the animals but it was so hot out that we didn't get to stay too long. It was neat though because at this festival they also had a helicopter and I got to watch it take off, very neat and loud. After leaving the festival I had to get ready for my first ballgame. Mommy's work gives discount tickets with all you can eat and drink to one game per year. This year was the first time that they have gone so we made it a family affair and my two aunts and their families also game. I was such a good boy!!! I even loved the fireworks at the end. I don't think I blinked once during the show. That was my first time seeing fireworks as I was in bed before they happened on the 4th so this was a great experience. I have even gotten another tooth so I am up to 12 of them and 3 more look like they are working their way in! My Great-Grandparents came to visit from Reno

This weekend I got to see my Great-Grandparents, Bonnie and Larry. They were visiting from Reno and this is the second time I have been able to spend time with them. Though the last time I was only 6 weeks old so I am a lot bigger than I was then. I had a lot of fun with them. I played ball and showed them how I walk and crawl. It was great too because my Grandpa and Grandma Bird brought them here so I also got to spend time with them. I love when I spend time with them because they play with me and according to my Mommy they wear me out so I actually nap. And nap I did, I slept for 3 hours after they left. Below are some pictures from their visit. I hope I get to see them again soon and I would love if Mommy and Daddy would take me to Reno. It would be my first trip to Reno and even Daddy's too.

11 Months Old - Sorry this is late

Well technically I am now 11 and 1/2 months but this will showcase my 11 month pics with my Pooh Bear and my bumbo along with many other cute ones of me. I have been doing a lot with the weather being so nice and am just picking up speed. I am now walking though I still fall sometimes. I have also figured out how to stand up without using anything but my own legs to get me there. I love playing with balls and putting items into other objects. I have a Noah's Ark Little People and I just figured out there is a door on it and I can put the animals in and out, wow the time I now spend doing that is crazy. I also love to just sit in my room and look at all of my books. In just two weeks I am going to be 1!!! Wow this year has flown by. Mommy and Daddy are excited and sad at the same time. I get to have my birthday party at the beach where we can swim and play on the playground equipment. Now I have to hope it stops raining as the beach is under water right now :( Also hopefully it won't rain on my party day!!! Anyway here are some pictures below and I'll be sure to add lots more.

Happy Father's Day to my Daddy!!! We had a weekend of fun family times. On Saturday we went to the Anamosa State Park where we spent the entire day outside having a picnic. Mommy and Daddy were worried about how I was going to do but I suprised them and had a blast. I walked around with my push toy most of the time and loved exploring all of the new sights and things to feel. I loved playing in the grass and touching the tree that was next to us. All of my cousins and aunts and uncles were on hand. It had been a long time since we were all together. I was very shy at first but then I came out of my shell. On Sunday we hung out just Daddy, Mommy, and me to have some quiet family time. We watched the Cubs game and did some errands. Below are some pictures from my first outting to the park. Lots of Firsts

Well I have been having lots of fun over the last couple of weeks. I had a few firsts as well. My Grandpa Tom and Grandma Lee Ann came and babysat me and we had a BLAST! I wore them out but they also wore me out but oh so much fun. I can't wait to have them watch me again soon. I also made it to the pool for the first time. At first I cried but then a few minutes later I was crawling all over the place and splashing. I ended up there for almost 2 1/2 hours!!! I am a water baby for sure. I can't wait to get back in and have some more fun. Another huge first is I am starting to take steps. I love pushing my walking toy all over the place and over the past week have started going on my own. Mom and Dad are anxious to see how quickly this turns into me going on my own all of the time. My main issue is I like to run instead of walk :) I am also 10 1/2 months old now and can't wait for my 1st Birthday next month!!! It's going to be so much fun and it's going to be at the lake which is even better as that's what I love to do. Well time is flying by. I am full of energy at all times and am a super happy little boy. I have been doing lots of new things and trying all kinds of new foods. So far the only thing I don't like is eggs which is pretty good as my Mommy is a very picky eater. I guess I'm taking after Daddy when it comes to food. I still love water a LOT so I can't wait to get to the pool. I have used my little one when I can but I want to go into the big one. I also can't wait to go to the beach and on Uncle Jeffers' boat. Snoopy still doesn't like me but oh well I enjoy chasing him as I have become a super fast crawler. I even walk around a lot now when I am hanging on to things. This past weekend I took 3 steps to Grandpa Tom!!! It was quite the event as everyone clapped and smiled at me. I went to my step-uncle's graduation party and met so many new people. I had tons of fun and met my new best friend, Great-Grandpa Don. He and I played catch with a napkin, yes a napkin, for over 20 minutes. As you can see I can have fun with anything. The weekend was very hot! Over 90 degrees and a lot of our events were outside. I also went to the BBQ and Blues festival in town and was excited for the petting zoo but they closed just as we were arriving as the animals were too hot. It was still fun though but I'm sure next year it will be more fun as I'll be able to do a lot more. I am also battling dual ear infections again so I haven't been my usual self but I'm getting there. In two months I'll be 1!!! Wow that is so awesome and I can't wait. I'll have an awesome party and it is going to be at the lake. Anyway that's all for now. I'm sure I'll be walking very soon and will have lots to update over the coming weeks.

I'm 9 months old!

It's hard to believe but I am 9 months old! I had my to go to two doctor appointments, my first was for my check-up with my regular doctor and she said I look awesome and am right on track. I am 19 lbs 3 oz and 28 inches long. My next appointment was a follow-up at the Neonatal Clinic and I did so well there that I now don't have to go back until 18 months!!! This is wonderful news and means that my illness and medicines I had to take have currently not caused any developmental delays. In fact the doctor told Mommy I will be walking very soon since I already pull myself up and walk from one end of an object to the other. I have become an expert crawler and am wonderful at getting into everything that I shouldn't have. I have also learned to wave Hi and Bye and I also give kisses. My favorite word is da-da and I love to talk. I guess I should rephrase that I love to yell and scream. I then laugh at myself. Daddy and I can hold a conversation in which we just repeat the noise the other has done. It's so funny and I love it! I also love watching my Baby Einstein DVD Old McDonald. I will sit and watch the whole thing and then get mad when it's over. So far that is the only one I am really interested in. This really helped me this weekend when I went to my first petting zoo. I got to see and touch a calf, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, and a donkey. Daddy fed them so that I could touch them and it was so much fun. Then we went to the mall and I got to ride the carousel which I love!!! I have been eating well and trying new foods and so far the only thing I don't like is eggs other than that I am game. I have been sleeping much better and hope that continues. Well that's all for now ~Jackson

Warm Weather is Here!!!

The weather has been so fabulous that lots has been happening for me. Last week my Grandpa Tom had surgery so I went up to see him and spend the day with him and Grandma Lee Ann. While I was there we went to the park and along came the neighbor boy Riley, who is almost 2, and I really liked him. Now I have a playmate when I go there. We went on the swings and down the slide!!! He even tried to share the ball with me but it was too big for me. Grandpa Tom wanted to hold me so bad and I kept going near him to try and get him to pick me up but he can't just yet. That means I'll have to make another trip up so I can get lots of hugs and cuddles in with him next time. This meant though that Grandma Lee Ann got to hold and play with me lots and I had so much fun. She even took me down the slide and I really liked it. I had fun with Bogey and Libby and they both gave me lots of attention which is more than what I can say about my dog Snoopy. Daddy bought me my own pool this week and I am loving every minute of it. My First Easter

Wow my First Easter! I got some really neat stuff from the Easter Bunny and I haven't even met him. I got some awesome eggs filled with cherrios and puffs and even got a stuffed chick. Even cooler was I got a Toy Story bucket and shovel as I am not old enough to pick out my basket yet and this will come in handy this summer at the beach. I was a spoiled little man :)

Well I am really moving now. I am crawling and I pull myself up and walk from toy to toy. I even use Mommy and Daddy as posts but they don't mind. I have begun talking and yelling a lot. Some of my nicknames these days are Monkey (because I climb all over) and Jackasaurus (because I roar like a dinasaur). I am just so active that it really wears Mommy and Daddy out but that's ok I am enjoying it. In a couple of weeks I will be going to my 9 month check-ups. I will go see my doctor and then I will also go to the Neonatal Speciality Clinic so they can check me over too. I have no doubt I will impress them again and show them there is nothing to be worried about. I am working on 2 more teeth so I will soon have 10!!! I have really been enjoying being outside especially now that it is so nice outside. Well I'll also post some Easter pics too. ~Jackson

Long Time and Many Changes

Wow I have been a very busy boy. I am 7 1/2 months old and have 8 teeth already! I am a baby who likes to move it, I am crawling all over the place and have begun pulling myself up and trying to walk from toy to toy. I am no longer content to sit anywhere. I love to talk and try to catch Snoopy who is no longer safe. This past month has been filled with many firsts, as stated above two big ones, crawling and standing. Some others were my first time in a swimming pool and I LOVED it. I am such a fish. I also spent the night with Mommy and Daddy at my Grandma and Grandpa Schrobilgen's house where I was also joined by my two cousins Grayson and Emerson. I also attended my first church service for my cousin Julia's First Communion and I did amazing! Unfortunately another first for me was a wake for a wonderful man who was a great friend to my Aunt Rena and Uncle Kurt. It was nice to step up and be a wonderful distraction for them over the weekend. I am very sad that I will never get the chance to meet Robb but I know that there are many great stories of him to be shared and perhaps one day I will hear them. Another first for me has been not wanting to sleep in my bed. I have always been a great sleeper up until the last couple of weeks. We think we have fixed the problem and I can now sleep in my bed instead of Mommy and Daddy's. I just needed a pillow!!! The funny thing is I have a distant cousin named Ryker who is a couple of months older than me and he is the same way. Wow aren't we cool! Too bad our parent's didn't figure it all out sooner. One other first is that I have a double ear infection but at least I have still been a very happy baby. As you can see I have been very busy and with the weather getting warmer I am sure it is about to get busier. I will be sure to check in more often and share more pictures. Messy, Silly, Crazy Boy

Well things have certainly changed in my world. I have decided that I want a pacifier and I love it! Mommy and Daddy tried for so long to get me to take one and I wanted nothing to do with it and then out of the blue I grabbed one and put it in my mouth and now it's my new favorite toy. Last week I had my 6 month check-up and I am 17 lbs. 5 oz and 27 1/4 inches long. Daddy even discovered that I had two new teeth that nobody had noticed. I now have two on the top as well that finally poked through and another two on top trying to come in. I have been a very good boy considering four new teeth on the way. I have started getting up on my knees every now and then and love trying to pull myself up on things so perhaps I am on my way to new adventures. I have also started chuckling and find it very funny when people laugh and cry. I will just laugh and laugh at them and sometimes along with them. Daddy will pretend to cry and I love it. I am loving all baby food and so far am not picky at all though lately I haven't been eating much but perhaps when I am done teething I will get back to my regular schedule. 6 Months Old!

Wow I have now been here for a half of a year and so far I think I like it. Mommy and Daddy can't believe how fast time is going with me and how much I have changed in such a short amount of time. I still only have my two bottom teeth but the others are trying to come in. I sit all by myself and can get from sitting to my belly. I roll all over the place and boy am I fast. Mom left me for just a minute and when she came back I was down the hallway and almost into her room. I think it's so funny and I seem to laugh at everything. Snoopy will come near me every now and then but now that I move around he doesn't seem to like me again. Well he better get used to it because now I can chase him down and I will only get faster! I love baby food and so far there isn't much I don't like. My parents love this as perhaps this means I won't be a picky eater like Mommy. I have figured out that I prefer toys that make noise or have lights that flash. I am developing a very short attention span so Mommy and Daddy are constantly having to come up with different things to do with me. I now go to bed around 8 and if I don't have to go to daycare I will sleep until 8 the next morning! This is wonderful. I don't like it when Mommy wakes me up at 6:30 in the morning to go to Mrs. Rachel's but once I get there have so much fun with my friend Halle. She is teaching me all kinds of new things. I have also discovered that I like my feet and they are nice toys when I can't reach anything else. I love watching basketball on TV and every now and then I even laugh along when Daddy watches Family Guy. When I am cranky Mommy and Daddy can turn that on and then I am happy. They wonder if that is a good thing or not but at least right now I can't understand what they shows says so we'll go with it. Well Mommy promises to update more often so be sure to keep up, I'm sure I will change a lot in the next 6 months.

Busy Busy Busy

Wow, this time of the year is very busy! I have been growing like a weed and had lots of people to see over the last few weeks. I had lots of photos to catch up on so there is quite a bit with this posting. Not only did I have my first Christmas and New Years but I also turned 5 months old! I now sit up by myself and love to jump in my jumper. I enjoy rolling from one end of the room to the other so Santa got me exactly what I needed for Christmas, a Crawl Ball. This is really cool because it moves on it's own and I can chase after it. I haven't showed any interest in crawling yet but I'm sure that will change once I get sick of rolling around. I prefer to sit or stand now so no more laying around for me. So far no new teeth have come in but I'm working on it. I'm finally getting hair to but surprisingly it is very blond considering how dark it was. I laugh all of the time now and really talk up a storm. I have been sleeping anywhere from 8 - 10 hours each night so Mommy and Daddy love that. I have also found my feet and love them! It's a lot of fun to pull of my socks! I am doing really well with baby food but had to go up to the 2nd stage as I didn't like how runny the 1st stage was, I'm a texture baby! I had a wonderful Christmas and was very spoiled!!! Lots of new toys to play with and I got to spend lots of quality time with all of my family. Right now we are in the middle of another snow storm but I have yet to get out in it and get my picture with my first snow. Perhaps it will warm up soon so I can experience that.

Sorry it's been so long since I've written, I've been a very busy boy. I had my 4 month check-up and my doctor is so proud of me. I am 14 lbs and 25.5 inches long! I am doing so well considering where I started from. I roll over all the time now and am working on sitting up. I prefer to stand all of the time now which makes Daddy worry that I won't learn to crawl and will just walk. I doubt that will happen but I guess we'll see. I even have two teeth now!! They are my bottom two and sorry there are no pictures of them as I refuse to share them unless you are lucky enough to catch me at the right moment. Mommy and Daddy have both tried numerous times and so far I have out smarted them. Last weekend I went and met Santa Claus for the first time and I didn't cry at all. Hope he brings me lots of good stuff this year, though there isn't really anything I need as I am spoiled enough already. I even experienced my first blizzard! We got over 10 inches of snow and then ice. It has been really interesting though I haven't been placed in it yet. I'm sure that will come once the temp gets a bit higher. I am looking forward to all of the Christmas gatherings as I will get to see all of my family again and hopefully meet some that I haven't yet met. I am 4 months old today and wow how I have grown! In the last few weeks I have been doing more and more. My two bottom teeth are working their way in and I have not been happy about it. Hopefully they will make their debut soon! I can now roll over both ways and now love to be on my tummy more than on my back. Daddy even found me sleeping on my belly this morning. I have learned how to squeal so I love doing that really loud and then I laugh. Speaking of which I am now full of giggles and share them on a regular basis. I am such a good baby and have been sleeping 8 - 9 hours straight each night, which Mommy and Daddy love. I had my appt with my NICU doctors last week and they say that I am doing everything I should be which was great news and now I don't have to see them again until I am 9 months old!! On Wednesday I will be seeing my regular doctor and I have to get my 4 month shots :( Hopefully I won't be too much of a bear afterwards but we'll see. Other than that Christmas is almost here and I can't wait to see all of the lights and experience snow even though Mommy and Daddy say it needs to hold off as long as possible. Well I'm sure a lot of new changes will be coming over the next couple of weeks so be sure to keep up! I am about as long as my Pooh Bear!

Today is my cousin Grayson's 2nd birthday. Last weekend we celebrated and I really enjoyed my time with all of my family, though I missed my cousin Tye. This was the first time that I was with them all in one room. Below are some pictures of our wonderful day together.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! Well it was my first and wasn't too bad. Daddy had to work so the night before I helped him prepare what we could ahead of time. Then on Thanksgiving morning Mommy and I got it all in the oven so it would be ready to eat when Daddy got home. It smelled great so I can't wait until next year when I get to eat some of it. Then on Friday Mommy and I went to Wisconsin to visit my Grandparents. First we went to Grandpa and Grandma Bird's and I got to meet my Aunt Ashley for the first time. Then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Cherry's and there I also got to meet my Aunt Diane, Uncle Mike, Uncle Jim, and cousins Brianna and Brady. Great-grandma Pauline was there too. It was a very busy day for me. I was very exhausted by the time I got home but I was a very good boy and didn't cry once! Below are some random photos from the last couple of days.

A Lazy Sunday

Today was a lazy relaxing Sunday. I have started teething so I have not been the happiest of babies the last few days. Dad did a couple emergency runs to Wal-Mart and I now have Baby Motrin and Baby Orajel. Hope this works!!! I am 3 and 1/2 months old now and wow is the time flying. I am really close to rolling over from my back to my belly but haven't yet figured out I need to move my shoulder that gets pinned. I am a pro at rolling from tummy to back. I am liking my cereal and have been eatting it every night. Tonight I tried Oatmeal cereal for the first time and loved it. Below are some random pictures over the last couple of weeks and with my first Thanksgiving coming I'm sure there will be a lot more.

Tonight I had my first taste of rice cereal! I wasn't too sure what to think but it went much better than what was expected. I am growing into such a big boy and hopefully I will get some good food soon as cereal is sort of boring. Mommy and Daddy can't wait for me to make my cute faces when I try new things so it is going to get fun in our house very soon.

Happy Halloween to everyone! It was my first one and I had a lot of fun being a giraffe. I enjoyed taking pictures with my pumpkins and actually loved wearing my costume. I did not go out Trick or Treating as it was too cold and I am too little for candy but I will look forward to it next year. Hope you enjoy my pictures.

I am 3 months old today. Wow time has gone so fast and I have grown a lot! Life started off a bit rough for me but I have sure made up for lost time. Below are some pictures to show just how far I have come.

Today is my Daddy's 29th birthday! I got to see candles for the first time and I was awed by them. I couldn't stop staring. I even got Daddy a present, a Transformers T-shirt as I know that is one of his favorites. Someday I am sure he will tell me all about them and perhaps even let me watch some of the old cartoons with him. I am so excited! Today was also my day with Daddy so it was extra special. He took some pictures of me as we headed out to lunch with Aunt Abby and to run some errands. He can always catch me smiling. Also are some pictures of me and Daddy together. We had such a great day! Tomorrow I will be 3 months old! Wow the time has flown.

It's Been Awhile

Well it's been a wee bit crazy in our household since my last posting. We have all been ill so Mommy and Daddy haven't been taking too many pictures. Don't worry though as this week will be very exciting for me so lots of photos and updates will be made. Tomorrow is Daddy's birthday and then on Thursday I will be 3 months old! Of course we can't forget that Saturday is my first Halloween! Wow I will be a busy little man and Mommy will be sure to get lots of pictures of me in my costume for everyone to see. Split in half and left behind

On Saturday Mommy and Daddy went to the Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Wisconsin Badgers game and left me for the first time with Aunt Abby and Uncle Jeff. I am split in half as I don't yet know which team will be my favorite but I'm sure I will make a good decision some day. I had a great day with Aunt Abby and Uncle Jeff and when Mommy and Daddy got home I was happy as ever and even slept almost 12 hours straight!!! Wow, they liked that so now Aunt Abby and Uncle Jeff have to watch me more often so my parents can get a good nights sleep. It was a great day and a great football game even though Mommy's Badgers lost and Daddy's Hawkeyes won. At least I didn't have two sad parents which I guess is a positive to them not liking the same teams.

I rolled over!!!

Tonight Mommy decided to do tummy time with me on my boppy as I seem to like that now. She then decided to see if I could do it with just laying on the floor. I lasted about a minute when I decided I was going from my belly to my back!!! Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me. Even Uncle Doug saw me do it. A few Christmas' ago Grandma Jill got Mommy a cool gift that is a blanket but you get to choose the picture that goes on it. Mommy finally sent in for it and put our favorite picture of me on it and wow am I larger than life on this thing. It will be a really neat memento to have forever though I may not appreciate it when I am in high school. I am just growing like crazy now and will be 3 months old next week!

Brrr it''s cold out there

It was rather chilly this morning so mommy put me in my hat and gloves that she found to go with my snowsuit. I actually didn't even cry when she did this which was great as I usually scream my head off when I am placed in a hat. Perhaps I am getting better and won't have to scream every time we go somewhere this winter as I'm sure a hat and gloves are about to become my normal attire. I also have been so worn out with my new routine that I haven't been taking very long naps during the day so at night I am very tuckered out. Hopefully I will adjust soon as mommy and daddy would like to spend time with me and all I want to do is sleep.Not quite sure about this!

Oh I think I do like this :)

Day with Daddy

I have spent time with Daddy by myself a few hours at a time but today we had a full 9 hour day just the two of us. It was so nice to just be here with him and bond just us boys. I was really good and didn't fuss too overly much which was good as I didn't go to bed at a very decent time last night like I had the two nights before. Daddy was even able to catch me smiling in some pictures which Mommy hasn't really been able to do. I just know that there is so much Daddy has to show me, like today he told me how to fold laundry and showed me how it's done. So now I will look forward to each Wednesday as that will be Daddy and me day.

1st Day of Daycare

Today was my first day at daycare and it was a WONDERFUL day. I woke up this morning full of smiles and was ready for my new adventure. Mom did really well and was able to get through the day without me but was sure happy to see me when she got home. Ms. Rachel even took a picture of me doing tummy time on the boppy and sent it to mommy at work so she could see how good I was doing. Daddy then picked me up and we got to hang out just the two of us until mommy got home. I hope all the days go this well as then it will be easier on all of us to adjust to our new schedule. Ready for my new adventure!

My First Snow

Wow this morning I woke up to something I had never seen before, SNOW! It is only October 10th and it has never snowed this early before ever in history. I am not quite sure yet what I will think of this as I was inside where it was nice and warm but perhaps I will like it when I am old enough to play in it. The nice thing is it stopped after an hour and it melted by the afternoon. I like playing outside and won't be able to soon so I hope winter holds off for a bit yet.

Well I am 2 1/2 months old now and my mommy finally posted something of me! Better late than never :) I finally fit in 0-3 month clothes and am growing like a weed. As of my check-up I am 11 lbs. 1 oz and 22 3/4 inches long! I am finally in the 40th percentile. My first day at daycare is going to be on Monday and I will have a little friend to play with who is 7 months old. Mommy is a little nervous about this but it should go well.
